Becoming continues themes first explored in Heritage Dreams, shifting toward more fragmented and heirloom-inspired narratives centered around memory, matriarchs, and inherited patterns.

This body of work explores transformation through layered painting and collage, where architectural fragments, travel, and cultural motifs merge into surfaces where past and present coexist. Pattern becomes a language for what is carried forward across places and generations.

Created during a season of movement and transition, the work was influenced in part by time spent in Spain, where I found myself drawn to enduring structures and small, persistent details — like trees growing through cracks in the pavement. That tension between fragility and resilience gradually found its way into the paintings.

Layer by layer, each piece holds memory, place, and experience. Some elements are immediate. Others reveal themselves over time.

Nothing is fixed. Each work remains in process — not a conclusion, but a continuation.
