I had The Teskey Brothers playing while I painted this, and somewhere between Crying Shame and Paint My Heart, I got unexpectedly emotional. Not sad. Just completely in it.
I love those moments when something catches you off guard like that. A song, a place, a memory you weren’t looking for. You feel it for a minute, let it move through you, and somehow come out a little lighter on the other side.
